Chapter 10 - The Dawn of a New EmpireThe morning sun rose over the Hudson Valley like a brilliant sheet of liquid gold, burning away the last lingering shadows of autumn and casting a warm, amber glow across the limestone facade of the Greenwich estate.

The heavy iron gates stood wide open, welcoming the morning breeze and the peaceful hum of a restored household.
Inside the grand foyer, the marble floor gleamed with pristine perfection. There were no shadows, no secrets, no hidden locks, and no fear.
Dominic Vale walked up the front steps, pushing open the heavy double doors. He had discarded his rain-soaked suit jacket, wearing only a crisp white shirt with his sleeves rolled up. He looked tired, carrying the satisfying, hard-earned exhaustion of a man who had successfully fought off every demon, traitor, and enemy that dared cross his threshold.
As he stepped into the foyer, soft, joyous laughter echoed down from the upper balcony.
Dominic looked up.
Standing near the arched landing was Harper, wearing her favorite pink dress, holding a brand-new storybook in her hands. Standing right beside her was Mia, holding a steaming mug of black coffee—brewed precisely the way Dominic liked it, with a hint of dark vanilla and zero sugar.
When Mia looked down and saw Dominic standing in the foyer, her eyes lit up with a warm, radiant light. She didn't say a word. She simply smiled—a smile that held no hidden motives, no fear, and no pain. Just absolute, unreserved welcome.
Dominic walked slowly toward the grand staircase, resting his hand on the polished wooden banister as he climbed upward to meet them.
For seventeen years, he had believed that an empire was built on fear, violence, and absolute control. He had believed that men were bound together by blood pacts, gold, and terror.
But as he reached the landing, and Harper ran forward to wrap her small arms around his leg while Mia handed him his coffee with a soft, lingering touch of her fingers against his palm, Dominic finally understood the truth.
The strongest walls in the world weren't made of stone or steel.

They were built on the courage of a mother who refused to break, the loyalty of a little girl who refused to give up, and the unwavering love of a home that had finally found its true master.
The betrayal was buried. The past was burned away. And the future belonged to the living.
