Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Circle

Six months after the night on the FDR Drive, the transformation of Moretti Holdings was complete.

A grand charity gala was held in the grand ballroom of the Moretti Tower to celebrate the launch of the new community development foundation—an initiative spearheaded entirely by Grace Miller to support the families of fallen dockworkers and security personnel across the outer boroughs.

The ballroom was a sea of crystal chandeliers, sweeping floral arrangements of deep red roses, and high-society elites dressed in black-tie splendor. There were no fake mourners, no treacherous cousins whispering behind pillars, and no hidden daggers waiting in the dark.

Dominic Moretti stood near the center of the room, wearing a tailored black tuxedo, holding a glass of champagne as he accepted handshakes and congratulations from city officials, judges, and senior business partners.

Across the room, standing beside the grand staircase in a stunning, emerald-silk evening gown that commanded the attention of every eye in the hall, stood Grace Miller. She moved with an innate grace and poise that made it impossible to believe she had ever pushed a cleaning cart in her life.

As Dominic caught her eye across the crowded room, a slow, genuine smile broke across his hardened features. He raised his glass to her in a silent toast.

Grace smiled back, raising her own flute of champagne, her heart steady and her future entirely her own.

The enemies who had tried to bury him in a fake coma were gone—scattered to federal prisons and distant, forgotten shores. The empire was secure. And the quiet maid who had listened through the dark had not only exposed the traitors, but had rewritten her own destiny in the heart of the city that never sleeps.

Dominic set his glass down on a passing tray, walked across the polished marble floor through the sea of guests, and stopped directly in front of her, extending his hand.

“Dance with me, Grace,” he said softly.

Grace placed her hand gently in his, stepping into his arms as the orchestra struck up a smooth, timeless jazz melody.

“I thought you’d never ask, Mr. Moretti,” she whispered with a quiet, triumphant smile.

And as they moved together across the glowing dance floor beneath the glittering lights of Manhattan, the past was finally laid to rest, and a new, unbreakable legacy began.
