Chapter 10 - The Full Circle (Happy Ending)

That evening, Dominic arranged a special, private surprise for Casey.
He had rented out the entire main dining room of Maison Étoile—the very restaurant where their story had begun six years earlier.
When Casey walked through the heavy mahogany doors, she was stunned.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated with soft amber candles and fragrant white lilies. Sitting at Table 14—the very same booth in the rear alcove—was her mother, Mary, smiling broadly, alongside several of Casey’s closest academic colleagues and lifelong friends.
The floor manager who had once trembled in fear was now standing near the entrance, bowing respectfully with a genuine, warm smile. "Welcome back, Dr. Miller-Russo. It is an absolute honor to have you tonight."
Casey looked at Dominic, her eyes wide with happy wonder. "You rented out Maison Étoile?"
"I bought Maison Étoile six months ago," Dominic revealed with a wink and a playful smile. "I changed the floor policy. All staff receive full medical benefits, fair living wages, and tuition assistance."
Casey gasped softly, a beautiful, emotional smile breaking across her face. "Dominic... that is amazing!"
"It was the least I could do for the place where I met the love of my life," Dominic said gently.
They sat at Table 14, enjoying an exquisite meal surrounded by family, laughter, and warm celebration. Mary toasted her daughter and son-in-law, thanking Dominic for bringing so much happiness and peace into their lives.
As the dinner drew to a close and the guests began to say their warm goodbyes, Dominic and Casey remained at Table 14, sitting close together on the velvet booth.
Outside, a gentle spring rain fell softly against the windowpanes of East Sixty-First Street, making the amber lights of Manhattan shimmer like gold.
Dominic poured two small glasses of aged scotch, handing one to Casey.
"Do you remember the last time we sat at this table?" Dominic asked softly, his thumb gently stroking the back of her hand.
"How could I forget?" Casey smiled, looking down at the polished mahogany surface. "Victoria was yelling at me, calling me an illiterate servant. And you were sitting right here, drinking thirty-year scotch, watching me like a hawk."
"I knew the moment you picked up that fountain pen that my life was never going to be the same," Dominic admitted softly, his grey eyes shining with deep emotion. "I saw a woman with more fire, intelligence, and dignity than anyone I had ever met."
Casey smiled, reaching into her pocket and placing her vintage Montblanc fountain pen right in the middle of the table, beside their scotch glasses.
The gold nib glinted warmly under the chandelier light.
"It all started with a circle of ink," Casey whispered softly, looking into the eyes of her husband—the man who had given her his heart, his trust, and an empire of love.
"And it led to an eternity of happiness," Dominic replied softly.
He leaned across the table, gently framing her face with his hands, and kissed her with a deep, boundless love that promised a lifetime of joy, peace, and unwavering devotion.

Casey closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of his lips, the comfort of his arms, and the complete, unshakable peace of knowing that she was home.
